BAUER POSTAL NETWORK is a German-wide company with its head offices in Hamburg.

Besides the Divisional and Operational Management, also here are Quality Management, Systems Management, Contract Management, Customer Consultation, Business Development, plus, the Marketing Dept., the heart of BAUER POSTAL NETWORK.

To allow BAUER POSTAL NETWORK to send the shipments entrusted to us as quickly and economically as possible, Germany has been subdivided into a multi-stage homogeneous network.

Our head office controls all German-wide processes and procedures. This also includes:

• Goods collection from the client, Lettershop or the printers.
• Co-ordination of transport to the regional units in the next step of the process (Main outlets).
• The setting of the operational deadlines, for this reason every client receives a fixed contact person for each step of the order process

In the Main outlets process, 37 Outlets (see map) are currently in operation with connected distribution points for the BAUER POSTAL NETWORK’S, network. A Main outlet is a nationwide partner, either BAUER POSTAL NETWORK itself or an independent partner. The Main outlet is responsible for the logistical steps in one or several post code areas. The Main outlet thereby forms the link between head office in Hamburg and the associated Sales offices as contractors in the third step of the network. The Sales offices, as regional partners, are responsible for all logistical steps in one or several postal codes, down to the delivery of a mailing to the recipient address.

The core task of a Main outlet is the supervision of the Sales offices, plus the implementation of all resulting business transactions:

• Quality assurance
• Handling of goods
• Order Pick-up
• Goods supply

The core task of a Sales office is the supply to the end recipient. This is carried out by the employees of the outlets: the mail carriers. The resulting core competences are:

• Quality assurance
• Supervision and induction of the mail carriers
• Delivery of the mail directly to the recipient or the mail carriers
• Households covered in delivery area.
